It doesn't matter which side did what. An objective inquiry looks at facts and evidence - those kinds of things. Obviously that isn't what happened here.  Each side blames and accuses the other.

No one side stated the facts and acted on them .The other has hindered ,lied ,slandered ,and shown nothing but contempt for he truth to keep a corrupt man in the white house .

I think I would rather have a millionaire congressman - someone who understands finance and economies rather that some lout who thinks the government can pay for everything and nobody need work.

My parentals aren't millionaires. However my mother alone could balance a budget better than any asshole in Congress could.

Trump is impeached, not the dem or rep party. What one says about the other is irrelevant. Like you said: facts matter.

He is guilty, the evidence is overwhelming. 
At the moment the republicans are on the side of the president being above the law if he is republican. This is just the continuation of your once proud countries decent into far right dictatorship. Its sad. You were a great nation till only recently.

So every democrat is honest and objective and every single single republican is dishonest and ignoring the facts?  I say that the democrats and republicans are all voting one way or the other because of their party affiliation.  There is no way anyone could convince me that all of them made an objective decision based on the facts presented.  It's a total sham, as will be the trial in the Senate.  

It's the same in the supreme court.  They don't make decisions based upon an objective evaluation of the case and constitutional law, but rather based on whether they are conservative or liberal.  That's why the parties fight so viciously over proposed appointees. 

It's the same in this forum.  The liberals scream that Trump is guilty and embodiment of evil while conservatives scream the opposite.

I say we take the process to a civil court and let the rule of law prevail.

The Democrats are on he side of he facts regardless  of any other motivation .Trump did it period.Republicans have lied ,disrupted,and tried every dirty trick in the book to undermine he the preceding.

Impeachment is the rule of law .Something Republicans have been tying to undermine this whole time .

Sure, the government may be so partisan that a properly unbiased trial may be impossible, but with the evidence known to the public, it's hard to argue that Trump isn't guilty.

And as for civil court, people have tried that. Enough people have tried it that he's had a total of 4095 lawsuits. And his legal team is like the Church of Scientology's, not quite as eager to sue ANYONE who criticises him, but certainly as eager to bury anyone who calls him out on his bullshit in a morass of vexatious lawsuits. He will drag the fuck out of lawsuits, even if he's certain to lose. It's why, after all these years, and after all these calls to release his tax returns, he hasn't budged. He has money to burn and he can afford to stave off the consequences of any civil lawsuit.

The republicans are the ones willing to overlook the presidents crimes, that the evidence he did is overwhelming.

He will be aquitted by the cronies but that is just because they are corrupt.

I am of the opinion that the courts in the US have been stacked with right wing judges on purpose systematically for decades. So much s that I doubt such a thing as a fair trial could be done for Trump.

He has to be held account though or else you complete your countries descent into far right dictatorship.
