It’s excruciating to think with how limited our (assuming American) available resources are for healthcare and they use it on shit that couldn’t stand any scientific scrutiny. People need help and they’re fucking around with the equivalent of ouiji boards and candles. And getting paid for it.

I've see zoos doing acupuncture and "cryotherapy" on elephants and kangaroos.

JFC, don't get me started on vets quackery. It's just shameful.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Yeah, homeopathetic "medicine" for animals should be termed abuse and made illegal.

Our vet(s) say if they don't offer the quackery they loose clients to the vets that do. I blame the internet kooks. Just like with Donny, if you repeat the lie's long enough some will come to believe.

Edit: shit, don't turn this into a political thread please.

How about using fucking science please?

I hate living in Jesusland

Is Jesusland the USA? If so, take a look at the Secular Therapy Project, (link below):-

It's cheaper to send a person to an acupuncturist or chiropractor than to send them to a real doctor. The VA does it for the same reason that car insurance companies made them a thing to begin with.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I don't think it really matters if a therapist/doctor/clinician is Christian or not. It becomes a concern when they feel the need to advertise that they are Christian on their website, etc. That's red flag territory.

A good, ethical therapist is going to focus on what you need and not on their belief system.

^^ this. When I did some CBT with a psychologist,  her website had her academic achievements and post grads. No religion mentioned, but she had a crucifix on her so like the vast majority here, I assume catholic. She did a good job and we worked great, not a single mention in religion during sessions. This is Portugal and they have a deontological council (is it the right word in english?), that oversees their work.

I have to agree that the need to post "christian" in any professional website raises flag. Red.
