Why you all need others, to believe?

Why do you want people to believe that evolution happens and the world is round?

If you think a thing is true, you want everybody to believe the true thing.

I can understand why you offered such a poor answer. Careful Belaqua, you are letting the mask drop. I will try to explain to you where you are wrong, if I can muster the will to do so.

Hint: your first and second paragrapha are wrong.

So you don't want people to believe that evolution happens and the earth is round.

I think its because most religions are silly and people, in their heart, know it.
If you are the only person to believe in the silly thing then you seem a silly person but if loads of people believe the silly thing it seems less silly.
That is why they try to convince you.

You don't have to believe in those things you kind find out for yourself that they are true. gods are just stories though.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.

After you find out things you hold them to be true. That's what "belief" is.

Another assumption. So black or white. To most people, the earth being an oblate spheroid matters nothing, the theory of how evolution works helps in healthcare, but for the common joe, has little to do.

I don't go out going about proselytizing the ToE, just happens some dumbarses appear here mostly with incredulity/ignorance about it.

It is taught in school because it's legitimate work on practical fields. People in courses that don't need biology, won't be taught the ToE. Linguistic, arts, pholosophy, etc.

So you need me to tell you how wrong you were in your first reply to this thread?

I think that people should believe true things.

Truth needs not any belief.

I think so too!

True things are true whether we believe them or not. The earth is still round and evolution still happens, even if nobody in the world believes it.

Still, on balance, I think it's preferable for people to hold true things to be true, and not false things.

You can't command what people think. You can only educate the willing to learn.

When I was young like 10, I stole a jar of Sodium (Na) from shool because I was skeptical that it would explode. So I cutted a tiny bit and put it in a glass of water in my homework desk. Tiny bit, boiled over water, made a bluish flame and extinguished. In order to prove scientists wrong, had to experiment with a bigger piece. That's how you get tinitis...

What I did with the remainder of the jar, only in the presence of my lawyer.

Best thing is to educate people that might learn, about our best interpretations of facts, than others interested in the interpretation of fantasies.
