Bloomberg - Really?

Those two terms are NOT interchangeable.  Just saying.

The democrats are not socialist. You don't really have a left in the US just less extreme right wing. To but this into perspective, our right wing party the tories, which has moved to the right of its usual position, is still to the left of the democrats.

I forget which one he is. They're mot interchangeable, but I forget which one applies. Maybe I should have put or between the words. He's one or the other.

Oh, fair enough.  I misunderstood you.  Sanders calls himself a democratic socialist.  If he wins, he'll have to govern as a social democrat.

I guess you could say he's both, then.  Smile

So now we have Republicans running the Democratic primary? Don't forget:
"Kavanaugh Is On The Supreme Court Because Of Michael Bloomberg"

But sure, somebody who is merely better at hiding the fact they are exactly like Donald Trump is better than Donald Trump.  Hehe

Or there's thing of Michael Bloomberg suing to stop a minimum wage increase in his city...after the politicians managed to get enough votes to overturn his veto of their previous attempt to increase the minimum wage. But sure, he's waaaay better than Donald Trump (not).

Bwaaaahahaha....

Damn - THAT'S funny!

Motherfucker has to pay $150 for anyone to say anything good about him, hasn't earned a single delegate from either of the primaries to happen so far (even needing to be a write-in for New Hampshire, and pretty much all other primaries between then and Super Tuesday), and IIRC, doesn't even expect to win, just to spoil votes away from candidates like Bernie Sanders. And does anyone here even support Bloomberg?

Honestly, he's a bit like Bill Clinton, from what I know, proudly supporting base-line liberal causes with a largely centrist platform. Not much of a change from that, and it would be disappointing to see him somehow win, since it's a sign that we haven't moved that far in 20 years, but still, at least Bloomberg isn't acting like a wrestling heel at every opportunity.

The establishment likes that he's better at hiding his corruption, but he's still corrupt. He's only a nominee because of his money.

But the majority of the vote was split among the moderates. Bernie has emerged as the progressive candidate, the moderate candidate has not been settled on yet. And Bernie self-identifies incorrectly, he's a social democrat. Social programs are not socialism. If they were, we'd already be a socialist country. Ownership of the means of production by the government is socialism, and Bernie isn't pushing that, just social programs. Maybe he privately wants actual socialism, but that's not what he's running on, and I doubt that he wants to move the USA to be more like Venezuela rather than more like the social democracies of Europe (which are also not socialist).

Okay. Would you vote for Bloomberg if he was the nominee?  Can't get more capitalistic than he.

I know this question was directed at SUNGULA, but for my part, if Bloomberg is the nominee, he has my vote. I can't emphasize enough how much worse the Trump administration is for the country than ANYONE still viably running for the Democratic nomination. Frankly, Bloomberg may have what it takes to beat Trump in the battleground states and all I ask is that we run someone who can win and is a competent functioning adult who respects the rule of law. But even if we elect a nominee I don't think can win (like Bernie because he doesn't fly that well in the battleground states), they will still have my vote in the national election.

I think Bernie Sanders is a nut and that his supporters are even nuttier. But I'm not even bothered by the fact that he's the front-runner for the democratic nomination. All I care about is removing Trump.

I ordered two of the stickers for my truck.

Mild Social Democracy (the political philosophy most of Europe is running very successfully under) is nutty now? Huh

They aren't even having Republican primaries in some states, like SC. There's no credible way to primary against Trump if the state RNCs is going to suspend primaries.

John Oliver made a good segment on Sanders's Medicare or as Fox News calls it "socialism" and since some members here are on strict Fox News diet, here's an opportunity to have a different angle on Sanders's plan (although Warren isn't far) and maybe weight in and see if Bernie is a boogeyman as Fox News portrays him to be or maybe he is up to something good and useful

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
