Hell is justified.
RE: Hell is justified.
The opposite of love is indifference.

The opposite of coherence being this thread.

It's clear that the faithful want their god to have a laundry list of positively valued attributes. Who wouldn't? FWIW, maybe their god does have that laundry list of attributes - but if so, their possession by god would only saddle that god with exactly the sorts of internally conflicting emotions and motivations that humans possess.

These things like love and justice and mercy and vengeance don't conflict with each other (or not) on account of who or what possess them. They conflict by nature, as we conceive of them.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Love's opposite is hate; it's the very well known -and official- antonym of the word.
It's not even the topic of discussion in this topic; i.e the OP is not discussing the "hypothetical parallel meanings of famous words". In other words: discuss the OP; it's better for the reader.

Dumbass. Indifference is the opposite of love OR hate. Grow a brain.

Consider a two axis graph. One axis for the strength/presence of emotion, the other for positive and negative qualifiers.

Indifference sits at -10,0. Love... 10,10. Hate.... 10,-10.

Love, in this view, isn't the opposite of hate. Both are states of some strong existent emotion. Indifference, being the absence of any such state, positive or negative - antonym to both.

Okey doke, let's get back to the OP.  If God loves people, he couldn't possibly punish them in the manners described in either the Quran or the New Testament.  Since both of these mystic tomes say that God allows precisely these sorts of punishments, God either hates some people or is indifferent to their sufferings.

I'm good either way.

The importance of the indifference is a God of the whole Universe does or does not notice us? Utterly unlikely. Totally indifferent. Leaving believers to piss in the wind with their prayers and hopes.

Any person who seeks justification for torture in the hereafter is only warming up their pitch. It's inevitable that a tyranny in heaven (real or imagined) will produce tyranny on earth.

Given that God has the wherewithal to end (or at least ameliorate) human suffering and clearly does not, an indifferent God would be the very definition of psychopathy that the OP was going on about.

Therefore, God deserves to be in Hell.  It's, you know, justified.

And people who tell me I will go Hell should go to Hell and wait for me.

When someone tells me I'm going to Hell, my usual response is, 'I'll save you a seat by the fire.'
