The death rate is 5 to 10 percent, depending on the source you read, which is high for a 'flu variant but low for something that could cause a pandemic.
Judging by the counter, the death rate seems closer to 3.43%. If it starts killing healthier, younger, people like the Spanish Flu, then this might be a cause for alarm.

And is still no need for the panic that is coming out.

Fear and uncertainty are guaranteed by human nature. No authorities can control that... That effect needs to be taken into consideration in the overall outlook.
Fear and uncertainty could possibly cause more deaths than the virus itself, especially if the world enters are deep recession, which is probable at this stage.
No God, No fear.

Point of comparison with the Flu: This current flu season, the CDC has estimated a minimum of 18,000 deaths so far. You see why I'm not that bothered.

Again the flu kills more people then SARS we still considered SARS a disease of concern and Ebola only killed 11,000 in west africa it was still a serious disease.Need i also point out we have a vaccine for the flu.

Meanwhile, Pence is trying to pray the coronavirus away with the Coronavirus Team.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"
