Hell is a place of darkness, if it were full of fire it would not be dark. I do not know of anything worse than burning forever and I doubt you would disagree. So God chose this discription of hell because the mind of man can not concieve of the idea of eternal seperation from God and His love, the loneliness, the darkness of the soul and anything else that would be associated with this seperation.

Ervin, Jesus said that only through Him can one come to the Father and enter paradise. So with Ghandi rejecting Christ he will spend eternity seperated from God in a place called hell.

How does this make any sense if you believe God is omnipresent? You're contradicting yourself.

By definition it is impossible to escape an omnipresence deity's presence, its everywhere, everywhere includes Hell.

To all who just responded to my statement, read it again and you will see that I do not believe that hell is a place where people will burn forever, you all read just what you want to so that you can complain about a christians beliefs. I've never asked anyone to believe the way I do and I certainly have not judged anyone. I make statements about what I believe and do not ask you to believe them. Yes God made a place called hell and it is for the unrepented sinners who reject Christ. No, Jesus definitely said that one gets into heaven by believing in Him. But you've made two seperate presumptions here; that one must worship Jesus to get into heaven, which is untrue, and that one must believe in Jesus to get into Heaven, which is true. Believing in Jesus implies following His ways. If you aren't following His ways then you obviously don't believe in them.

Now what did Ghandi do and say that was Christ-like, I wonder...? Hmmmm...
