Conversions from Covid-19
This whole Coronavirus is really making people sad and scared.

I wonder if during this time of fear, worry and anxiety, people might turn to Christianity in droves.

As in, they might dust off their bible and search for answers in it. Maybe they will cry out to God their father and beg Jesus to save them from the plague...

I hope that is the case..

What do you think? will people flock to Christ in this time of doubt?

Nah, they'll probably flock to God Rama.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Some no doubt will.

Others will see what is happening in Italy, a very devout country, and will turn away from it.

Unfortunately I'm seeing a lot of religious leaders who are trying to milk this pandemic for more personal glory. Parasites like Kenneth Copeland and Joel Osteen have stressed the importance of continuing to tithe.

I don't personally care if people turn to Cyril the Wombat God, so long as they consult medical professionals and not listen to charlatans, which includes faith healers, anti vaxxers, and "alternate" medicine practitioners.

If an all powerful god does nothing to stop the virus, either he is not worth bothering with or he does not exist.
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in mud ..... after a while you realise that the pig likes it!

You want fear to be their basis for belief?

That's very fucked up, but then, fear has always been a part of any theist belief.

Fear, famine, plague and war is the drive of religion. There is a reason why it is on the magic book.

Some will, no doubt, and no doubt, others will turn away from it.  Look at the First & Second Great Awakenings in United States history for an example.  Still, conservative Christianity is a minority belief system in the Western World, and overall, is in decline.

The bulk of churchgoers are well over 70. I don't foresee any increase in numbers from a disease that picks off the over 70s.
