I've worked many, many government contracts in the private sector & I've also contracted for basically all of the, big communications companies also while in the private sector & your statement isn't true as often as you think it may be.

My bad, my brain skipped over the word "welfare" at the start of that sentence. On a similar note however, all of your large communications companies took in quite a bit of corporate welfare to get started & put plant (equipment) in the ground. They were too risk adverse to network our country without the government providing incentives.

You would vote "I support it" in this poll then..and your argument exactly reflects mine. A social safety net shows that our nation has civilised compasion and is a good thing. People who abuse the system should be punished harshly, but not their children. The children are innocent victims in this situation.

People who are unemployed for a certain period of time should be offered a public sector job, even if it's something like a binman. If the person then turns it down, his or her unemployment benefits should be removed, or at least substantially reduced. There needs to be a balance between compassion for those who can't work, and encouraging those who don't want to.

I agree 100%. Although, according to the "VOTING INSTRUCTIONS" in the OP, this should mean that you vote "I support it" simply because there are exceptions when you support it.
I know, these instructions in these recent polls are rather odd since surely the exceptions shouldn't be voted for but rather what you lean towards the most!

because the true is that most pople support it doesn't mean they support it to a extremist levels nd there needs to be some distinction between supporting it and fully supporting it

But the same goes for opposing it.
