I'm a Christian theist. That's a theological world-view.

But I'm open to following where the evidence leads. I'll acknowledge that nature operates independent of God if there is evidence that it does.

That's the claim, yes. But I can't accept it on your say-so.
There is evidence that nature operates dependent on god ? And is isn't there detectable means one could link this dependence ?

Please don't accept anything on my say-so.

I think your claim is that God had nothing to do with it. Did you conclude that or assume it?

I'm good with it.  You should learn to love yourself.  Seen god do anything, seen anything that would need divine intervention?

My claim..is that it grows.  Do you deny that grass grows?

The item in question is whether or not their are fairies. It's a fun question, but a plant will grow and die regardless of how we answer it. If I told you (or you told me) that there was a cap every week, it wouldn't change an iota. Would it?

Of course not. But you claimed a lot more than that. You claimed that it grows independent of God. That's the interesting part, and I'm wondering if you concluded that or assumed it.

Sure, independent of god.

We both know that grass grows. If grass grows in a universe with god, grass grows. If grass grows in a universe without god....grass grows. Grass grows either way, grass neccesarrily grows regardless of whether or not there are any gods.

Simple.

Not really he claimed it grows and there is no indication any god is involved

Is there any reason to add god depence ?

Because there seems to be no reason to assume it's god dependent . It seems to be the case .

Science, doesn't try to do anything. Science is what it is, undeterred by the fanatical stupidity of those that challenge and declare objection when reality upsets their perfect little fantasy.

That seems to be the whole thing in a nutshell, really.  Observing the physical universe can (and clearly does) point people in the direction of gods, but it isn't justified.  It can be safely presumed that a universe with gods wouldn't necessarily be distinguishable from a universe without them.

When we look at natural processes we so far have had no need to use the god hypothesis to explain any piece of it.

In fact if you try to do so what  you end up doing is adding layers of additional explanation to explain god.

Its like:

Life started by some natural process energy gradients produced an in balance that along with complex chemicals started life like processes and replicated. Some of these processes are understood and scientists study alternatives and likely candidates for abiogenesis. Never having to inject EVER that it just has to be magic.

Compared with:

A super intelligent all powerful magical being that somehow has always existed for some reason just magic'd it into existence somehow using zarquan knows what method. Oh and there is NO evidence for the magical being you'll just have to take our word for it.

The god hypothesis is not just unsupported its a poor explanation. But for centuries Mr godly almightyson was the catch all answer to everything and so retarded human thinking for at least hundreds of years.

You can fix ignorance, you can't fix stupid.
