Most of the bozos I met from the "Michigan Milita" that wanted to claim a rank - had never served.
Guys like myself - who had served - felt rather uncomfortable with some overweight mental midget calling himself "Major".
Our county - at least while I was involved -(almost 30 years ago) did not wear uniforms or claim rank. Dunno about now.
That’s just the thing. In their own eyes, they are a lawfully constituted militia (actual laws to the contrary), so they can award themselves whatever ranks they please.
Wouldn’t surprise me to learn that there’s a Grand Field Marshall Jimbo Stumphumper in one or another of these groups.

If things today are as they were - and I see no reason to believe otherwise - there simply isn't that many of the droolers....
Back in the 90's the MSM reported that they numbered in the millions. From what I saw - if there was 2000 in Michigan I would have been surprised.
I talked to a guy from Detroit (the other side of the state and largest population.) They had less than 100 members.
Consequently - I'm not to worried about them..

They're more of a walking ammo dump, for people we should be worried about, than a danger themselves.

Why are you worried how many bullets a guy has?
It's not fucking radioactive. It's not toxic. Without a gun and someone to load it it is less dangerous than a pantry full of peaches...
Such worries are as troglodyte thinking as restricting the size of magazines - as if at a certain number of rounds the guns take over the user and go on a rampage. 9 rounds and you're fine. 11 rounds and the gun turns the gun owner into a zombie who will do the gun's bidding.

My wife was watching some movie, "Mandolins"? I think. Bunch of alien riding beasties, and laser guns. The Mandolin hero of the story got on what appeared to be a laser machine gun and sprayed pulses everywhere. I guess the gun took over his brain. He was spinning in a circle, managing to hit all the bad guys while not getting shot in the back when facing away from the bad guys. I didn't see much of it, except that part, and where they (robot sidekick?) got some little green guy as a captive(?).

Yeah, that's it. I don't watch much TV. I caught parts of that while grilling up some lamb loin chops. The TV is between the kitchen and the grill in the back yard.
