Physics Puzzle for the Gearheads

Physics Puzzle for the Gearheads
The other day I was putting my SO's car up on the two post lift to change the oil.

She was watching as I ran the lift up and I commented to her - "Hey - it's finally  70° F in here."  She walked across the bay and looked at the small wall mount thermometer - and to her surprise - confirmed I was right.

How did I know?

The thermometer is stuck. Tongue
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

I’m guessing something to do with the viscosity of hydraulic oil at 70F.

Nope. Bulb style alcohol. Never seen one stick.
Plus it really was 70°f.

Because you're an old fart like me and won't work in colder weather anymore. Final Answer. Tongue
