If the name is crossed out? They be banned and not able to post or reply etc.

If a thread title created and its ideas from the dim past catch your eye?

Start a new thread and make the topic your own.

I've already started a few of my own threads. I don't think I'm doing anything wrong by responding to this thread. I didn't necropost and the thread isn't locked.

But..... What do you hope to gain by trying to question some one who can't reply/interact?

I wasn't questioning them.

EDIT: I was responding to the content of the post rather than to the poster.

It's "netiquette". Not a bannable thing as such, but is considered impolite to resurrect long dead threads.  This is not a convention peculiar to this site, it is broadly agreed across many fora.

There are practical reasons for that convention. Participants in an old thread may have simply ceased participation, been banned, or actually died. Thus they have no right of reply for whichever reason.

Just saying.

I didn't resurrect it.

I did not accuse you of so doing, I merely indicated why it is considered bad form. That is called "general advice". You can take it or leave it as you wish.

I was doing like you.
I was answering the threads.
But the forum moderator here told me, "Don't do that."

Actually, you were resurrecting threads that were long dead. Modus didn't do that here, and I don't understand why he's being criticized for what he did here.

Okay, so you're giving advice to somebody who the advice doesn't apply to. Seems kind of weird to randomly give advice to somebody in particular and then act as if it wasn't directed at them.

I'd appreciate it if it wasn't unsolicited.
