Interesting...I thought there might be some basis cos I always wondered why they're called 'trolls'.

From deep in my reservoir of saved postings this (from The Official Trolling FAQ):

...a posting or newsgroup message designed to attract predictable responses or flames and a well designed troll will induce newbies and flamers alike to make themselves look even more clueless than normal whilst managing to convey to other, more savvy, members that it is in fact a deliberate troll. I have trolled and I have done so in this forum, I am not alone in this respect.

A troll will typically consist of an apparently foolish contradiction, a deliberately offensive insult to the readers of a board or newsgroup, or a broad request for trivial follow-up postings and such postings are usually intended to get attention, disrupt newsgroups or simply make trouble.

Good trolls are intended to incite a reaction so to deliver an anti-religious message on a board such as this would not be considered a troll characteristic but posting religious oriented flames might be. Trollers also "lurk" to see the effect of their troll and will occasionally post a response of his or her own designed to "inflame" the respondees even more so.

The art of trolling appears to be mostly a post and sit back & watch the fires burn type concept and a true troller will post something that has no specific relevance to his or her own views.

I couldn't find many references to link trolling to trolls beneath bridges (except of course the obvious parallel that both types of troll are effectively surprise attacks where one leaps upon the unwary) so maybe I was wrong ... oh well

Are you talking about his attempt at health care reform or the online town hall meeting? Both are pretty nice, he's going for a similar health care reform that we had in Massachusetts. (FYI: MA has universal health care)

Well the healthcare reform he wants is close to what we have.

No what I find impressive that this is (to my knowledge) the first president that not just lets people know what is happening after the fact but beforehand, and allows for input even when there is no election.

A few people are on the right track, here. Does anyone care that he has still not proven he is an American citizen? The most important person in our country is probably a terrorist!! And what about our coat of arms? Obama changed it. (before he was elected even.) so now it means he will not protect America. His own moronic partner dropped some hints, even ("...there will be unpopular decisions..." etc.) And what about his inauguration? Yea, yea, Adrian. Maybe he's nervous. But hey, he INTENTIONALLY was trying to leave out the parts that mean that he stands for America. That's not nervousness, that's betrayal. And he refuses to put his hand over his heart for our national pledge/anthem. He doesn't want to "offend" anyone. IT'S AMERICA!! IF YOU DON'T LIKE OUR PLEDGE, GET OUT!!!!!! And all of you are so nieve and blind that you either didn't see the end of America coming, or you didn't care. Mark my words, there will not be another democratic election in the U.S. (and just another point, our "president elect" is NOT humble, as you would all love to think. He just couldn't wait to destroy us. He couldn't hold his title until his inauguration. He had to give himself a name with the word president in it before that. And go to google or someplace and look up the laws, if you want to call them that, that he has past. They're executive orders.)

His birth certificate was posted on line. In addition there was a press announcement in the Hawiian newspaper at the time of his birth in Hawaii. McCain was born in Panama.Reagan ruled by executive orders. What's the point?
