For anyone who wants to see how it was the chief justice who said the wrong thing, here it is:

From what I can tell, as soon as Obama realised the chief justice had said the oath wrong, he paused so that the justice could correct himself, however Obama went ahead with the wrong version anyway.

You may be pleased to know that his second oath of office (just to be sure) was done without a Bible. Apparently they couldn't find one!

CoxRox that is so comforting lol I mean if your oath is to execute a public office such as the presidency then I dont see why the hell you need a bible since God has nothing to do with it.This country claims to be a god fearing country while at the same time it's constitutional ammendment calls for separation of church and state. If that is not hipocritical I dont know what is.Our currency, court rooms, and our politics are infected with some elements of the christian God.

When I went to the Christopher Hitchens debate last night, Hitchens said something of particular interest regarding Obama.
Hitchen's believes Obama is an atheist, and he has a couple reasons.
1) It seems clear that when he was younger he was an atheist, but when he wanted to get into politics he sort of shopped around for a religion because it's impossible to get elected as an atheist.
2) In his inaugural address he used a quote from Thomas Paine, whom he referred to as the Father of your country.
Quote:"Let it be told to the future world that in the depth of winter, when nothing but hope and virtue could survive, that the city and the country, alarmed at one common danger, came forth to meet it."
Thomas Paine was a noted Deist, very critical of religion. He wrote The Age of Reason.
I'm not sure if I buy it, but I didn't realize that was in there. It would be nice to find out Obama is an atheist, wouldn't that be thrilling? I just hope he reveals it after he gets re-elected. -_^

I really don't care what his personal beliefs are. As long as he does a good job or at least the best job possible in the current circumstances he can worship volcanoes for all I care.

I think he will do many good things. Do some changes for his country and probably try to negoitate with their enemies instead for declaring war and perhaps create an understanding.
But when it comes to this economy crisis that specially USA have, do I not think he can do so much about. I mean 8 bilion in debt, that alot of money I dont see how they will pay it of. I acctually think that bubble that USA is, the modern USA which is a bubble that ghave been created the last century will eventually burst. What will happen after that is hard to know, but I think their power and influence in the world will change dramatically for the worse. They will have bad eceonomy, healthcare and other social departments such as education. The poberty will rise and perhaps the country will split.
Just becuase they are part of the modern world is it not impossible that USA as we see it today will crash, even if Obama manage to prevent it for some time. Will it not, in the long term perspective, manage to survive as a superpower. Not while Russia, China and Europe are growing economical, politcal and in sports. If Europe, as they plan, become a country in few decades maybe less then I dont think USA will be as powerful as they are tody and aspecially not as they were for some years ago.

Well let's here it for the boy!.......the boy who'se just delivered a dose of socialism to the good ole USA. 800 billion bucks of STATE money, repeat STATE money, to protect jobs and benefits for the jobless.
Good job.
Pity about sending more boys to die in Afghanistan, though.

Something I've been hearing a lot that annoys me is, "Oh, he's not special. He's just real charismatic." Well, that's why he's special. It's easy to have the right policies. What's hard is getting people to go along with them, and Obama might just be able to do that.

Politics is a machine whose mechanism has been running incompetently for years no one man can change that.I think whoever says that president Obama is going to turn this country around is highly dilusional. It sounds like the U.S. has found a new messiah lol.I am an American but I view politics in the same light that I view religion they are both bogus. There is nothing that Obama can do for me that I cant do for myself.
