I just remembered, you don't have that over there Dunno How's that working out for you: dunno:

Not the topic.
Our topic is about this terrorist maniac who was motivated -explicitly- by the extreme branch of non-Muslim ideology.

Anything to say about him ? his motives? his extreme views?

About him: Tarrant is a sick, twisted fuck. The world is a better place now that he’s locked away until he dies.

About his motives: Hatred, fear, bigotry, all fueled by the usual combination of racism and ignorance.

About his extreme views: He has views to which normal, sane people do not subscribe.

Minor correction: You used the word ‘trials’. Tarrant was never on trial.

all the comments above; not a word about the massacre, not a word about the op, not a word about the mirage non-Muslim extremist groups kept repeating for decades.

The OP trolls; discuss that or go out. You have plenty of space to write elsewhere.

That's because when it happened some folks like myself who live just across the Tasman got to offer condolences etc in real time to the actual folks who were hard done by.

That you seem to be wanting to score some sort of 'Points' in some weird social contest and in no way actually show 'Empathy' or 'Sympathy' or 'Understanding' is again more of your nature on display than ours.

The first responses didn't mention him, yes.

I can only speak for myself, I won't engage in your disgusting rhetorical narrative, which is an outright evil attempt to lump people together with this terrorist.

If you really knew the evil motivation and ideological tactics he used, then you'd understand that your OP is playing into the narrative that you so foolishly espouse. He knew exactly what the responses would be, he even predicted the media narrative, the pushback and the cowardly cold takes. You and your ilk played right into his hands.

Enough of this bullshit.

A better approach, IMO, is showing with facts & logic how the underpinning behind his ideology of "The Great Replacement" are factually wrong. But who am I trying to convince here, I'm convinced that you don't care about the lives lost in the massacre - they're just a useful excuse to push your own agenda - your use of "non-muslim ideology" tells me as much.

And what about your culture? Will Muslims soon become like Osama bin Laden and ISIS?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

The "mental illness" card again? so unlike the terrorists in Al-Qaeda and ISIS he is not just practicing what his ideology taught him?

He is very, very, very sane, and practicing what his ideology taught him. Just like the ISIS militants.

Major correction to your post: the trial did happen and the sentence did come out: the terrorist got life in prison sentence:

https://www.9news.com.au/world/new-zeala...e70218ea1d

Quote:Australian national Brenton Tarrant, 29, was sentenced at the High Court in Christchurch today to life without the possibility of parole on 51 charges of murder, 40 charges of attempted murder and a charge of committing a terrorist act.

It is the first time this sentence has been handed down in New Zealand. Tarrant, through Crown-appointed counsel Pip Hall QC, did not oppose life without parole.

I would chop his head instead; but NZ's land; NZ's rules though.

Wait, you think I'm excusing him for what he did on the basis of mental illness?  Nothing could be further from the truth. Sorry, mate, but shooting 91 innocent people who had never harmed him in any way is manifestly NOT the act of a sane person. Being sane, stable and rational would cause you to reject the ideology that tells you to shoot people in a mosque.  Or to cut the heads off of murderers.

And a court appearance for sentencing is not a trial. Tennent pleaded guilty, no trial took place. His court appearances were 'hearings', not 'trials'.

We already know you like to chop *things* off humans. Seems to be a kinda (you have several ones tho) obsession.
Weird thing, you seem to feel morally superior to anyone else on this forum, despite of this. I wonder why.

So as the ISIS militants and Osama bin Laden, but you never call them insane. You call them "terrorists" and never use the mental illness card to justify their acts, like you did to justify the act of this white "totally sane" terrorist.

The last I heard; the name of the formal "anti-terrorism campaign" was not the "anti-insanity campaign".
You can't mask the truth. And just like anti-Islam showed its ugly face, it will keep showing it again and again and soon you will run out of mirages.

Soon enough many will follow the footsteps of New Zealand in combating this cancer.
