I can honestly state I have never seen an episode of that show.

It's a great show if you like crazy dutch angles and Hawaiian t-shirts.

I really do think this is normative culture for this forum. I've seen a with live ammo before but none quite this obstreperous.

Damn it, I am out of school, some 30 years since, retired, already have one foot in the grave, now you want to make me look up a word?

Not sure it would be accurate to equate me to Bluto to Animal House. If you want to accuse me of "throwing fits", I'd be the one telling other assholes to wear their seatbelts and don't drink and drive.

Yea, but someone guided me home during a hurricane.

After a hurricane.  It was nice of Zilla to get you home as you don't need to be wandering around unattended, but the hurricane was over.  Just because you can't navigate using GPS or a damn map doesn't elevate this to life-saving event.

Eh, I always preferred Joe Friday. I mean, sure, a lot of the views he expressed on the show come across as needlessly reactionary (the heavy anti-drug messaging and the defenses of the police system as a whole in particular have aged like wine, except in this case, they turned to vinegar), but he was basically the exemplar of what a cop should be: Tough, but fair, and honest, with almost unrealistic levels of integrity, and even as he became a mouthpiece for “law and order,” he never missed an excuse to take shots at fuckers like these:

(It’s legitimately disturbing how rare anti-Nazi takedowns are on the right these days.) And it helped that Webb went out of his way to fall out of the trap of racially coding crime. Also, I’m fairly certain Joe Friday had some kind of autism spectrum disorder.

When it comes to crime shows, I’m more of a serial killer fan. Testosterone filled cop action just doesn’t do it for me.

The "road closed" updates couldn't keep up with reality of the situation. I was running three different websites to get a realistic picture of what was happening in NC. It was challenging and I was sitting home in my jammies.
