Help me out here. Barrett and voting case.

Help me out here. Barrett and voting case.
Just heard this on Morning Joe live on MSNBC. I hope I heard it correctly. But did a google search on news, and couldn't find a link.

Amy Barrett has passed on hearing the case about mail in ballots saying there wasn't enough time to cover the case and make a decision. I hope I heard that correctly. But I cant find a link.

If true, one can only speculate, as I think I heard Joe make the argument, that it wasn't that she would not side with the GOP, but more along the lines that considering how close it is to the election, there wasn't enough time to thoroughly consider the case and she didn't want to damage the credibility of the court.

If I heard it correctly, that goes in favor of Democrats, at least for this election.

AH, GOODIE, just found a link.

Um no, this is temporary. There still is nothing stopping her from taking the case Nov 4th again.

I will say however, if she were to side with Trump and the GOP and take cases on the 4th and side with them, she would look like a total fucking asshole and ruin the credibility of the institution.

But because she did this, she is going to have a much harder time now justifying a sudden reversal. But I also wouldn't put it past her.

If Dems take the House and Senate, they will have the power to determine the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. They could, for instance, pass a law to prevent them from hearing cases on abortion or the ACA; the Constitution specifically gives them that power. A conservative court can be managed, the important thing is to show up for the midterms. If Dems had shown up in 2014 they could have kept the Senate and saved us all kinds of trouble.

Huh? Trump's power won't end on November 4th. Even if Biden wins, and we flip the Senate and expand keep the House, the power wont be passed to Dems until Jan 20th. That is still enough time for Trump and the Slanted SCOUTS to do some damage. There will be emergency cases filed by the GOP in that time.

We wont be able to determine the Jurisdiction of the SCOTUS until we take power, if we do.

I think this has more to voting issues right now. I don't think they will touch the ACA or abortion until next year.

No.

More like totally political.  The court has indicated that it sides with election fuckery and believes that unfucking an election is unconstitutional - specifically noting that they can review the case at a later date.

That makes sense, because it's not the sort of political shot you want to fire if you don't have to -or before you know where firing it will have the greatest effect. They're very friendly to this issue - it's just that they didn't want to hear this case now anyway. Thus, her recusal is political theater. Just like not knowing anything about anything and having no opinions or past history was political theater.

Now, granted, she may have her own equally horrible reasons to recuse. She's there to save the bay-bees and kill healthcare regardless of who gets elected.

Not the point, which is that if you knew how to use Google, you wouldn’t need to keep asking for help.

Since you are not on my end physically standing over my shoulder then you don't get to assume what I did or did not do. Please skip the gaslighting. There is nothing wrong with what I did. And there is nothing wrong with asking for help.

And you must have missed the post where I did finally find a link.
