According to the show, television stops being a thing in 2040.

That is when blowjob robot technology is perfected. Either that or holodecks which brings me back to point 1. In the future the job of jizz mopper is vital because once the holograms dissolve everything hits the floor!

Every time Picard refers to Riker as Number One, I think, Shouldn't you be #1, Picard? Making Riker #2?

Good point. I never thought of that.  Think

Anyone seen it yet?

From the two episodes I have seen at a friend's house (he has paid CBS streaming, and this was before covid broke out) I liked it. Patrick Stewart is still a good damn actor and the storyline is interesting.

Q's appeal is that's you hate him. It's kind of like Frank Burns from MASH. He was a jerk and you loved to hate him.

Exactly. Smile

In the British Navy, the 1st Mate (an officer) reported to the Captain of the ship, thus, #1. In the US, it's an Executive Officer for Navy and Coast Guard.

I was confused about how the Star Dates worked in the Star Trek universe, so I had to look it up

Quote:"A stardate is a five-digit number followed by a decimal point and one more digit. Example: "41254.7." The first two digits of the stardate are always "41." The 4 stands for 24th century, the 1 indicates first season. The additional three leading digits will progress unevenly during the course of the season from 000 to 999. The digit following the decimal point is generally regarded as a day counter."

Data on trial for his independence, that episode brought tears to my eyes.
