Person Of The Year

Person Of The Year
TIME Magazine picked Biden and Harris as their Person Of The Year. A good enough choice, but perhaps a better one might have been the collection of judges who saved American democracy by throwing out Trump’s legal challenges. Opting for the rule of law over whackanut conspiracy theories seems pretty significant.

Any other picks?

RE: Person Of The Year
That's probably not why those judges did what they did. The courts telegraphed the cases they wanted to see brought before them so that they could feel good about signing off - and its only through the malevolent incompetence of the trump admin that they failed to bring what was asked for.

Our trump purged and trump appointed system very much wanted to help the traitor end the american experiment, and still do, and will..when the next more competent guy brings them what they asked for.

(I'd nom the teams that are working on pollination drone systems - but I'm biased).
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I agree, the judges told Trump and his minions to fuck off. America needed that.

I'm not really sure the motivation of the judges in question matters as much as the outcome.

That's twice Trump's picks have voted against him. This bodes well for a rational SCOTUS.

Being picked as Person of the Year by Mad Magazine carries just as much weight.

It's just slightly more relevant than The Catty Girls in Study Hall pick Prettiest Girl of the Year.....

But not much.

Except to the catty girls.

Yeah, this year's pick mostly seems to be motivated to piss off the big orange baby.

And since you ask me who would I pick, I guess it would be more appropriate to choose those doctors who tirelessly fought COVID-19 that they even got COVID-19 themselves.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

And nurses and all the other health care workers.
