[Quranic Reflection]: is being closed minded the cause of disbelief ?

RE: [Quranic Reflection]: is being closed minded the cause of disbelief ?
Oh, but that's not why, nothing nearly that sane. He'll insist that he believes it because a magic book told him it was true.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I reached this conclusion from the following verse in the Quran:

History proved that the worst type of humans are ignorant humans who insist on staying ignorant and never open their minds to new things.
Actually; you can compare the humans of the past who were ready to crucify another person for believing earth was round, to the modern people who accept even multiverses.

According to that verse, the cause of disbelief is Allah, and nothing else. It says that we can only believe if Allah gives us permission to do so, but he'll punish us for not believing.

What a fucking monster.

I have stated in the past, that the worst possible universe I could imagine, is one where Yahweh/Allah, actually existed.

It's pretty damning, when all one has to do is read one of their 'holy books' to be proven right.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

I tried opening my mind once but the trepanning tool was too short so I still have a membrane of bone between me and god.

The more a person is stubborn the harder for them to learn anything new; hence believe in anything new too. I think many athiests are stubborn; not just "finding that the provided evidence is not sufficient".

It's not stubbornness but doubt.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I reached this conclusion from the following verse in the Quran:

Quote:Sura 10, The Quran:
https://quran.com/10/100?translations=

(100) It is not for any soul to believe except by Allah’s leave, and He will bring His wrath upon those who are unmindful.

[Translation]: Dr. Mustafa Khattab, the Clear Quran

History proved that the worst type of humans are ignorant humans who insist on staying ignorant and never open their minds to new things.

No being closed minded leads to the retention of irrational beliefs like christianity or islam. All the known evidence says that disbelief is the correct position, and there's enough of it that it would take extremely strong evidence to the conteary to overturn. You have no evidence to the contrary.

Your attempt to poison the well is noted.

In my eyes, the evidence truly -is- not sufficient -- Woefully so.  You're just going to have to accept that the things that convince you are not convincing to everyone.  I have very good reasons for not believing religious claims, most notably the fact that they don't stand up to empirical analysis in the real world.

I'm going to give you a demonstration of how this process works.  Do you believe the Islamic story about the moon splitting in two?  If so, kindly provide me with the location of this alleged event (i.e. its position in relation to the craters and mare on the visible side of the moon).  It's only fair to warn you that I'm a citizen scientist astronomer with good knowledge of major lunar features, and I have resources such as NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO) to refer to.

Irony: Winterhold doing an ad hominem attack on other posters using psychological traits which perfectly describe himself.

This exactly. Also, I'm too hard-hearted, too prideful, too arrogant, that I just won't humble myself and believe what someone else tells me to believe. I "trust unto my own understanding" and I'm not a good enough follower. Curse my lying eyes!
