Um no, they are equal. I don't mean in a PC sense, I mean simply in the fact that it takes female and male DNA to reproduce. And all human beings regardless of gender die eventually.

But from a global perspective, it is absolutely true that gender roles still exist and that men are seen as far more expendable than women.

Gender inequality is not a matter of biology.

That depends on the context in which people define (in)equality.

Fair point. Let’s say for the purposes of this thread.

The fact that military services skew massively toward cisgendered males has nothing to do with biological reproduction or the fact that everybody dies. It’s much more a societal inequality than a sexual one.

As usual, a crock of shit.

Women have been kept out of certain military roles because they were seen as being incapable of doing the job.  Reasons being lack of physical strength, being too emotional, not able to function out in the wild during their periods...and on and on.

Being less expendable is another of your dumbass conclusions.

There were a lot of MOS designations that weren't open to women when I was in.  Most of them are now.

You can't escape biology because that is what we are. And even if your sex chromosomes aren't deciding whether you'll join the military, you are still making that decision because of your sex chromosomes. People form groups and behaviors based off the smallest of observable features (like hair color) even if those features aren't determining that behavior. Inequality is a byproduct of having two or more groups at play.

We create inequality because of biological differences.

Sex is not gender.

Okay? Then to simplify my comment using your words: Your sex might not be determining how you act out gender, but you'll act out gender based on your sex.

Gender is a behavior; a demonstration you put out unto the world. And you'll pick the role you want to act out based on the group you belong to (i.e. your sex).

That is monumentally insulting to transgendered people.

No; why would it be?

Because you’re claiming that sex determines gender. Someone can be sexually female and identify as male. That person’s gender is NOT determined by their sex. If it were, there would be no transgendered people.
