Yup.... That's cold.

There are a lot of places in TX without power, still.  Add to that the only passable roads are the major ones and you have a problem.  Texas simply isn't equipped to deal with snow/ice and extended periods of super cold.

My daughter's father-in-law is currently sleeping in his office at work because the home he shares with his (maybe 18th) wife has no power and has been partially flooded due to a broken water pipe.

Daughter is still washing dishes in the bathtub.

It's a real fun time here in TX.

There is also chatter about hotel/motel price gouging, hit and miss open gas stations, scarce restaurant-fast food, non-functioning RV sites, ................

No doubt all true.

There's an egg shortage here...last year it was TP, now it's eggs.

That'd be a no from me.

Yesterday I ventured out to the grocery store where I usually shop - closed - no power.  The power came on later in the day but word has it they were out of eggs, bread, and the meat counter was empty.  As I ventured through our little town I noted that every traffic light was not functioning.  Last night we got more snow...I don't intend to leave the house till the spring thaw.

RE: Yup.... That's cold.
here in Oklahoma, I lost power for a bit, had several who lost theirs for hours. my hot water pipe in my kitchen is frozen harder than a ministers pecker, no hope of it thawing until maybe this weekend at the earliest. and I can't use my dish washer. I thought I had it bad until I started seeing the news from Texas. holy shit! my power is back on and I can stay warm at least. I still have running (cold) water. so my issues are minor annoyances compared to what's happening down there. I've also missed work so far this week. on one hand, yah snow day.....er... week!! on the other? will they fire me? I hope not.

That would be a sight...mine have been displaying their ability to lounge on the couch...preferably on one of the quilts I made for them.

edit - my bad, you said agility... Hilarious

Now it's a heat wave....

In 6 hours the temp came up 54 degrees!

Of course that's only 1 degree above freezing.....

So we're not going swimming at the beach.......

It's warmed up to -16°C (3°F) in Winnipeg. Not quite bikini weather, but I'm sure *someone* is popping outside in a T-shirt just long enough to make rude gestures at the weather.
