A 14-year-old girl is seriously hurt after she and a 12-year-old boy allegedly armed themselves with stolen guns and opened fire on Florida deputies, officials said.

The children, who reportedly ran away from a group home hours earlier, allegedly broke into an empty house Tuesday night, which the homeowner said was stocked with an AK-47, a handgun, a shotgun and a large amount of ammunition, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office said.

I saw this. All the "blue lives" matter folks really don't care about police, otherwise they would not allow the firearm industry and gun lobby allow for our flooded market. "But how is it the homeowner's fault their guns were stolen?" Is the common refrain and a distraction. Guns should not be easy to buy or steal, either way. Whatever security measures the homeowner had obviously were not good enough. Legislation is ultimately going to be the only thing that is going to reduce firearm violence. 

And the pay gap causes broken homes which leads more kids to be in the foster care system and in group homes because the birth parents cant pay rent, or have to work so many jobs they have latchkey kids which makes it more likely for them to have social problems.

 Dafaq with the Yank's idea of 'Gun safety'?

I mean I get it. Not every gun owner is a twat like the above but where was the check that they at lesat hadda safe storage to keep the things in?

If the guns weren't properly secured then, yes I think they're partially liable.

Our GOP and conservatives here care more about pandering for votes to keep power than public safety. We can't even pass liability laws for things like this. 

The rest of our allies rightfully think we are nuts on this issue.
