Now, now - let's be far about this. Simply because Gaetz is financially linked to a sex trafficker and likes to show naked pictures of his sexual partners to his House colleagues and may have trolled the internet for sex-for-money and is being investigated for transporting underage females across state lines and circulated a point system ranking House staffers by their sexual desirability doesn’t mean he’s guilty of anything.

Yeah, whatever the Ethics Committee can do would really hinge entirely on the Congressperson in question A) knowing what shame is, B) being able to take their recommendations to heart, and C) both parties giving a shit about the rule of law. But, as far as I can tell, Gaetz has no shame whatsoever, and belongs to a party that cares so much about the rule of law that, if the President was of their party and openly incited an insurrection to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power, overturn the will of the people, and attempt a self-coup, and did so live on national television, they'd refuse to convict him. Not even if it's the legislative equivalent of getting Joe Pesci knocked off in Goodfellas



(I also considered posting the scene from Jackie Brown where Ordell kills Beaumont, but, frankly, I'm not sure a scene where N-bombs get dropped with abandon would fly with this forum, even if it is the kind with the "a".)

And expulsion from Congress is a once-in-a-century thing, and it already happened this century.
