Onion bhaji with tamarind dipping sauce. Fake Messiah’s fault - his ‘eat free for a year’ thread triggered me.

I grabbed tamarind concentrate when I was at Sun World Market last week. The only thing I use it in is Pad Thai, so I probably should have skipped it.

In an effort to gain and then maintain some weight, I bought some high calorie Boost drinks I have had before. They are okay.

Also bought some protein bars that are supposedly chocolate and peanut butter. They taste like sawdust with a bit of a peanut butter aftertaste with a low quality chocolate coating. Not horrible, but I will have to look at these like medicine that I have to take once a day. BLAH

Need to find some other high calorie things to eat regularly.

Or try one of these

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Bacon and sausage?

I eat both more often than my cardiologist would like.  And now I would have to sell a kidney to be able to afford the eggs to go with them.  Wink

Not exactly high calorie, but if you're looking for protein, you can get a two-pound tub of protein powder for $20 at Aldi's and Walmart. At one protein smoothie a day, it lasts about a month. A cup of milk (I use almond milk), a scoop of powder, and frozen fruit or ice and mix in a blender. If you use ice, you'll probably want to use some kind of flavoring. I use chocolate, caramel, and strawberry syrup, or those Italian syrups they sell to put in your coffee, but that's on top of fruit.

I have a supply of mango syrup that I sometimes put in my tea.  I actually looked at protein powder but wasn't sure what else to do.  Thanks!
