Nobody wants to work anymore

The princely sums of 300 a week aren't keeping people people from working.  No matter how hard a person believes it, no matter how much trouble they have filling their particular work order - it just isn't true...and the longer they continue to advance this fantasy rather than solve their particular recruitment issue...the longer their order will remain unfilled.

The usual hiring networks and levers were destroyed by the plague.  Workers have taken other jobs after the wave of shutdowns - moved on.... or simply died.  The expansion of UI benefits has produced no difference in the rate at which employees return to work nor is there any actual labor shortage in the united states produced by benefits - the correlation between benefits and labor runs in the exact opposite direction.  States with more generous benefits have more employables seeking work - full stop.

Fact free politics and governance will not fill the empty position at your local deli counter.  Amusingly enough, vaccination would - the one thing the same cohort that peddles this bullshit is increasingly deadset against.  People really will go back to starvation wages if they don't also worry that they won't merely starve ..but die, and maybe kill a loved on their way out.  It's right there, the us hasn't changed so much that you can't whip the poors into enriching you at their expense.

You just have to put in the work.  You don't even have to put in any work making the job better or pay better - you just have to make the candidate feel better........ever was it thus.

Fucking....Lazy...Employers.  So used to sucking the government tit with welfare wages that they don't know what to do when, as they have it, the government competes with them on the endless race to the bottom.
So.. you advise keep with the unsustainable model of paying people to stay home, and force them back to work once the economy fails, rather than cut bonus covid benefits for those who's jobs have been made available again. besides isn't that a condition of receiving unemployment? once the job comes back you do as well.

There's nothing unsustainable about paying people more to stay at home, even though that's not really what's happening...anywhere...against forcing people to die for the dow.

Dead people make no money, and can provide no money, for people like me to play with the margins. Fact.

Let me ask this directly, so you can answer it directly. Do you pay less than the meagre amount of government benefits aimed at the plague? Why should anyone give a shit if your usory business..assuming that's true...fails?

If you fail, does that mean that the employee is lazy, or that you're a dipshit who failed your employees? Smart money says the latter - and by smart money, I mean my money...which I'm not losing at all.

Maybe it's less a case of 'people don't want to work' as it is 'companies don't want to pay'.

This "people don't want to work anymore" meme reminds me a lot of the "girls don't want to date nice guys" idea that the incels were saying a few years ago.

They're putting the blame in the wrong place.

I have money trees, and a few bridges for sale.
I also might know a guy to get that uhhhhh......thing. Just a small commission on my behalf, then there's the location fee, the paperwork fee, the internet fee, the papernet fee, the interwork fee, and the fee fee.

I'm a bit of an entrepreneur. I just happen to sell videos on the craft.

Weird. My husband's employees can't wait to get back to work. He's having trouble keeping on the people he has now, because they just don't have the demand for it. Then again, he pays a fair wage to his employees, and treats them like people instead of scum of the earth.

Desperate for workers, US restaurants and stores raise pay
apnews.com
Quote:U.S. restaurants and stores are rapidly raising pay in an urgent effort to attract more applicants and keep up with a flood of customers as the pandemic eases.

McDonald’s, Sheetz and Chipotle are just some of the latest companies to follow Amazon, Walmart and Costco in boosting wages, in some cases to $15 an hour or higher.

The labour shortage has gotten so bad that long-haired, freaky people may now apply.

As long as they keep their hair tucked up under their hats, though.
