How many here have constant tinnitus?

RE: How many here have constant tinnitus?
I have reduced hearing in my right ear in 2003. Someone filled liquid nitrogen in a 1½liter bottle and I stood too close to it. Thanks a lot rustur.

Anyone else?

You may want to check out any medications you may be on.  Some are said to be ototoxic and can cause or worsen tinnitis.

My doctor put me on a med last fall and my tinnitis turned up to 11.  I figured out what was doing it and switched to a different med that made it go back to the hum I am used to.

Yes. Caused by:

-Navy ship engine rooms without decent (or any) hearing protection.
-Drag racing with open headers. Not fast enough to require a helmet.
-Motorcycle, even with a helmet.

It is constant. I had a hearing test last year and was recommended to get hearing aids. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and get them. I'm 40+ dB lossy in both ears at 4 kHz. That's smack on the tone generator at 4 kHz, too.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Not on any medications and have not taken ototoxic medications in the past at a dose or duration that would be significant. But thanks for the suggestion.

I'm now 66 (still act 18 though) I have a constant very high pitched whistle in both ears, only really notice it when it's things are quiet. Going slightly deaf, if someone speaks in a different room or if there is background noise like running water I can hear the voice but can't make out the words. Been to a few loud concerts, but only 2 or times a year

Constant tinnitus since my cardiologist tried clonidine on me, which also gave me crazy dreams. I complained about the multiple side effects and it didn't control my blood pressure, so he doubled the dosage. I found another cardiologist, but the tinnitus never went away.

RE: How many here have constant tinnitus?
I have tinnitus. I could mostly ignore it in the past, but I had some ear issues in 2020 and the ringing in my left ear has become more pronounced. Still, I don't notice it if there's background noise, and I have fans blowing constantly so the only time it's noticeable is at bedtime. The more troubling issue is that I have chronic itching in my left ear. The doctor gives my hydrocortisone for it, but the itching is deep in the ear canal and so I worry about damaging the eardrum when applying the cream. That, and the last tube they sent me is clearly intended to be used for rectal itching, and I feel weird applying butt creme to my ear.

I get ringing in my ears occasionally too. It never lasts long, and it doesn't seem to be as severe as what you are describing. I am not worried about it right now. Hope you can find some solution for it.

The solution will eventually be death.
