Firstly: you're right. It might not be. With deepfakes and Hollywood magic, it could be a fake from the get go. We'd need to see it recreated in order to determine the veracity of the footage. But first we'd need to know/have a guess on what is shown in the recordings.
Secondly: what reason would we have to think that it wasn't man-made? Other than nature we don't have much to compare it to. We certainly don't know what an extraterrestrial-made thing looks like.
Thirdly: I wouldn't make that assumption. A plastic bag once chased me on a phantom wind when I was little. At the time, the threat was very real to me. But now I know that the appearance of intent is not always an indicator.

What should raise a red flags for the ufo nuts is the fact that these "things" are small.
Small "things" do not cross thousands of lights years. (even assuming ftl travel is even possible -something I doubt).
Then there is the issue of why us? Why all this way for so little gain?
