Yea they did, the owners of the inflatable house business, and the parents who were not paying attention to weather conditions. Everyone has TVs and can watch the weather hours and days before hand. But even if you want to call it an accident, it still would amount to a product default. Even in passenger jet accidents, even if not pilot error, the FAA still investigate to insure better procedure, protocol and improvement on product.

Yes accidents happen, but again, with this product, this was not the first time something like this happened.

The report said the it was an unexpected gust of wind - this means that no one had any cause to suspect dangerous conditions. It isn’t reasonable to expect a bouncy castle manufacturer (or any manufacturer) to guard against the unforeseen.

If those kids had been killed because a meteorite struck the castle, would that be a ‘product default [sic]’?

You are such a dumb ass. Staggering really how stupid you can be. Weather forecasters get it wrong quite often. They offer educated guesses at best unless something is sighted, such as a tornado.

An ice cream man died of cancer. A funeral procession of ice cream trucks honored 'the king.'

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

It’s been twenty years to the day since LOTR premiered. No parades, no reunion specials, no governments declaring a national holiday. Fortunately, one man has the dedication and appreciation to mark this day in cinematic history.

Finally! We'll get to see Hitler on ice

Quote:Mel Brooks Variety Series ‘History Of The World, Part II’ Set At Hulu

The 1981 Mel Brooks film History of the World, Part I was never meant to have a sequel, but Deadline has confirmed Brooks’ high jinks across history will continue as part of an eight-episode variety series at Hulu. The writers room for History of the World, Part II will begin this month, and production will commence in spring 2022.

“I can’t wait to once more tell the real truth about all the phony baloney stories the world has been conned into believing are History!” Brooks, who will write and executive produce, said in a statement.

They will keep killing bears so they can make silly hats

Quote:Army will keep iconic bearskin hats worn by Queen's Guard after MoD rejected fake version proposed by animal rights group Peta amid calls for total ban on real fur sales

The British Army will keep bearskin hats as they are after chucking out a fake fur version proposed by Peta.

The Ministry of Defence said the iconic caps worn by the Queen's Guard's will still be made from Canadian wild black bears in future.

Ministers slammed the fabric prototype put forward by the animal rights activists for only meeting one of the five requirements to be considered as an alternative.

They said the products had 'unacceptable rates of water shedding and performed poorly on the visual assessment'.

This is a nothing burger. The Canadian black bear is a ‘species of least concern’ (population estimates range between 400 000 and 500 000) and the hat maker who supplies the Guard purchase between 50 and 100 bearskins per year. These are bought at auction, so it’s not as if the animals are being specifically killed for their skins. And those hundred or so hides provide caps for several other military units, not just the Queen’s Guard.

PETA need to calm the fuck down.

In case you follow golf and couldn't hear above the din of "Tiger and son finish 2nd!!!" John Daly and namesake won the tournament.  So Tiger rehabbed a leg after a foolish bit of driving.  The bigger story is that John Daly is still alive, possibly sober, and winning.

Open letter from The BMJ [British Medical Journal] to Mark Zuckerberg: https://www.bmj.com/content/375/bmj.n2635/rr-80

Quote:But from November 10, readers began reporting a variety of problems when trying to share our article. Some reported being unable to share it. Many others reported having their posts flagged with a warning about “Missing context ... Independent fact-checkers say this information could mislead people.” Those trying to post the article were informed by Facebook that people who repeatedly share “false information” might have their posts moved lower in Facebook’s News Feed. Group administrators where the article was shared received messages from Facebook informing them that such posts were “partly false.”

Readers were directed to a “fact check” performed by a Facebook contractor named Lead Stories.[2]
We find the “fact check” performed by Lead Stories to be inaccurate, incompetent and irresponsible.
-- It fails to provide any assertions of fact that The BMJ article got wrong
-- It has a nonsensical title: “Fact Check: The British Medical Journal Did NOT Reveal Disqualifying And Ignored Reports Of Flaws In Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccine Trials”
-- The first paragraph inaccurately labels The BMJ a “news blog”
-- It contains a screenshot of our article with a stamp over it stating “Flaws Reviewed,” despite the Lead Stories article not identifying anything false or untrue in The BMJ article
-- It published the story on its website under a URL that contains the phrase “hoax-alert”

We have contacted Lead Stories, but they refuse to change anything about their article or actions that have led to Facebook flagging our article.
We have also contacted Facebook directly, requesting immediate removal of the “fact checking” label and any link to the Lead Stories article, thereby allowing our readers to freely share the article on your platform.

There is also a wider concern that we wish to raise. We are aware that The BMJ is not the only high quality information provider to have been affected by the incompetence of Meta’s fact checking regime. To give one other example, we would highlight the treatment by Instagram (also owned by Meta) of Cochrane, the international provider of high quality systematic reviews of the medical evidence.[3] Rather than investing a proportion of Meta’s substantial profits to help ensure the accuracy of medical information shared through social media, you have apparently delegated responsibility to people incompetent in carrying out this crucial task. Fact checking has been a staple of good journalism for decades. What has happened in this instance should be of concern to anyone who values and relies on sources such as The BMJ.

RE: Noteworthy News
It sounds like this article was a criticism of one company and its shoddy clinical trial practices in general, and is not specifically a claim that the Covid trials are invalid. However, it implies such a thing, and will thereby be used by anti-vaxers as "proof" that the Pfizer vaccine was never properly tested. After reading the article, the breaches of protocol likely wouldn't have a huge impact on the results of something like COVID. It isn't like the subconscious signals from a nurse who saw unmasked data is going to stop someone coughing their lungs out from COVID, or stop them from dying of a complication.

Here's the thing about science -- one really good trial can be definitive, but the problem with a single trial is that scientists don't actually have direct access to the protocols and procedures actually done. They only have access to what is "claimed" to be have been done. Scientists often take the reputation of the team into account, as well as the data.

Trials are best done by separate independent teams, in separate countries, as has been done for the COVID vaccines.

The FDA is nothing more than a rubber stamp. They have no ability to police bad science. Likewise, the FAA is also a rubber stamp, and can't police bad Boeing airplane software.
