Is the U.S. facing a second civil war?
LGBTQ Nation
Quote:What separates the patriot from the nationalist is that the patriot understands and witnesses the divide and the gap between the reality and promise of their country and its people. The nationalist, though, is often unaware that a gap even exists between the potential and the reality.
Whether in office or lounging at his Mar-a-Lago golf club, former President Donald Trump ® has embraced the term “nationalism” in his “America First” policies. During his time in office, he conspicuously moved the extremists on the political right from the margins to the center of his MAGA movement. At a recent Democratic fundraiser in advance of the upcoming midterm elections, President Joe Biden (D) blasted the so-called “Make America Great Again” philosophy arguing that it is “like semi-fascism.”
Though many top Republicans pushed back against Biden’s representation of a significant extremist segment of their party, “Threats to Democracy” is the most important issue facing the country in a plurality of registered voters according to a new NBC News poll. It found that 21% of respondents placed “Threats to Democracy” in the leading position, followed by 16% for “Cost of Living,” and 14% for “Jobs and the Economy.”
This came on the heels of a survey conducted by the Southern Poverty Law Center with Tulchin Research indicating that 53% of Republicans and 39% of Democrats believe that the U.S. “seems headed” toward another civil war.”

Good thing I’m prepared. I decided years ago that, as soon as it was official, I’d watch the 2006 movie The Queen and review it for Anglotopia as a sort of eulogy. I even brought it up with me my last few vacations just to be safe.

It appears that the death watch has officially begun.
Some articles make it sound as though Britain is just falling apart and will completely implode upon the Queen's death.
It’s certainly going to be a shock to the system, as Lillibet is the only British monarch most people have ever known.

Ah, well. She had a good run and - on balance - less of a waste of space than most of her predecessors.

So, will Biden go to the funeral?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

She was a lot older than people think... due to having two birthdays a year! (one actual, the other her "official birthday")
