Part of me wants to demand the Republicans do something about this horseshit, but the rest of me knows they’ll probably sooner  admit that they’re actively trying to cause mass deaths before doing anything.

Do something? This was the Christmas card on Facebook by a Republican congressman, Andy Ogles, who represents the Nashville elementary school that was just shot up.



He is doing his best to say he won't do shit about gun control.

I think the only solution to gun control is that every time there's a mass shooting, one republitraitor representative is taken out and shot. When you run out of senators, start on congresscritters, when you run out of them state governors and work your way down. If they face the consequences of their inaction they'll get their fingers out of their arses.

Tennessee Republican responds to school shooting: ‘We’re not gonna fix it’

Tennessee Rep. Tim Burchett ® said there’s no way to “fix” gun violence, after a shooter killed three children and three adults at an elementary school in his home state on Monday.

“It’s a horrible, horrible situation,” Burchett told reporters. “And we’re not gonna fix it. Criminals are gonna be criminals.”

So, fun fact, you know how many According-to-Hoyle mass murders [note: the official definition of a mass murder involves four dead in one incident] there've been in the UK since I was born? Four. And after one of them, the UK got its ass in gear. They banned handguns altogether (the other three were done with shotguns), and they even did a nationwide gun buyback programme to compensate pre-existing handgun owners. Meanwhile, in America? You know how far back I have to go to find four according-to-Hoyle mass murders in America? 16 days.

It's really a testament to how off the grid American conservatism is that Piers Morgan, of all people, can come across as legitimately based on this issue:

I still see no reason for the average person to need to own a firearm. In the UK there are gun clubs but they are very tightly regulated, no way could I just walk into a shop and walk out with a gun.
