Quote:Tucker Carlson received an offer from Russian state media after Fox News announced it would part ways with the longtime host on Monday.

Fox announced Monday morning that Carlson would be departing from the network, writing in a statement that the conservative host's last show aired on Friday. Fox wrote, "FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor."

Carlson, a conservative firebrand, has faced criticism from the left over his stance on a variety of topics including the 2020 presidential election and the Russia-Ukraine war, as he has voiced criticisms against Ukraine and its president Volodymyr Zelensky, earning him praise from Russia. Despite these criticisms, Carlson frequently ranked among the most-watched cable news hosts, as conservatives support him.

The announcement that Carlson would be leaving the network drew strong reactions from both his supporters and critics on social media Monday, including from the Kremlin-affiliated news outlet Russia Today (RT).

RT, which has previously published news articles in support of Carlson, appeared to make an offer for him to appear on their network.

"Hey @TuckerCarlson, you can always question more with @RT_com," RT tweeted.

I'm torn between thinking of him as a useful idiot and a fifth-columnist. I don't think he's an idiot in general.

I have seen an age old interview in which Carlson was defending what (at the time) he was going to do. The whole appearance was nothing at all like the persona/act he had shown on Fox: He isnt an idiot, at all, he knew exactly what he was doing (which his private emails showed as well), which makes him even more culpable.

Disney sues Gov. Ron DeSantis, alleging political retaliation (msn.com)

Disney is suing Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis ® over what it calls a “relentless campaign to weaponize government power” — a major escalation of the standoff between the entertainment giant and the conservative governor.

So I guess it is a shock that TV's racist sociopath is in fact a real-life racist sociopath?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Trump Will Not Mount a Defense in E. Jean Carroll Rape Case

Quote: Donald Trump will not mount a defense in the writer E. Jean Carroll’s federal lawsuit against the former president in which she accuses him of both sexual assault and defamation, his lawyers confirmed Wednesday afternoon. The former president will not be appearing at all, they said, as it’s not required in civil proceedings.

Sauce.

Is this Trump’s team making a tacit admission, or is this a deliberate ploy for Trump to declare a mistrial? Then again, they might think that they raised enough room for doubt in the cross-examination.
