Elizabeth Taylor, I think.

Day eight. Five hours.

Project status: finished.
Total hours: 36

I haven't updated for a while. Because I was embarrassed.

On the 24th of July, I was ready to be done. All I had to do left was the biplane. And I felt confident that in 6-7 hours, I could knock it out of the park. At some point in the painting process, I think this thought, this goal post, overwhelmed me. Because all of a sudden, I started painting shit. And I kept going and painting more shit. So, by the time I was at a stopping place on that day, I had not only NOT finished like I wanted to but also now I had shit on my dad's car and would need to fix it.

I promise you; 90% of my artist identity is wrapped up in ego. So, it hits below the belt to fail this badly on a surface that you're not supposed to fucking mess up on. Only magic all the time, get it right, Andy!

So, I didn't wanna talk about it. I didn't want to post my failures without having my success waiting in the wings. Because I get the feeling some folks anticipated this sucking or turning out crappy. And the less validation I could give to those guys, the better. So, yeah, I screwed up. But then I fixed it.

Holla at yer bad self.

It's not 100% perfect but it's enough that I'm satisfied that my father won't be driving around with shit on his car.

I also went back in and redid Jane's eyes blue to make it more accurate.

Thank you for following along.

Next thing you know, you'll be painting things like this-

If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
