So treating the dirtbag like a dead man works out?
Good to know...
The quote is contextual. Inasmuch as treating someone a certain way influences what they become, Gothe urges us to treat people what they could be.
You can't just walk the street around treating people a certain way and change them. That's absurd. And that's not what Goethe meant. But there are people in our lives whom our actions influence. Of those, I think it's a good idea to keep Goethe's words in mind.

You mean like being an atheist? (we're about 15% of the world population)
I'm more inclined to question my judgement on important shit when I'm in agreement with we the people , who are sheep.

“Wow. No God. If Mum had lied to me about God, had she also lied to me about Santa? Yes, but who cares? The gifts kept coming. And so did the gifts about my newfound atheism. The gifts of truth, science, nature. The real beauty of this world. Not a world my design, but one by chance. I learned about evolution---a theory so simple and obvious that only England’s greatest genius could have come up with it. Evolution of plants, animals and us---with imagination, free will, love and humor. I no longer needed a reason for my existence, just a reason to live. And imagination, free will, love, humor, fun, music, sports, beer, and pizza are all good enough reasons for living.” (Ricky Gervais)

Indeed. In fact it tends to indicate the opposite.

Yair.
Aristotle said “Give me a child until he is 7 and I will show you the man.”
Many other thinkers ,such as St Augustine, have been credited with this quote.

I guess it might be, but I'm unconvinced it's a general indicator of laziness, ignorance or stupidity.
I just went looking and found the quote below. To be a fair, there doesn't seem to be a consensus. Still think you're fucking wrong.
The use of obscene or taboo language - or swearing, as it’s more commonly known - is often seen as a sign that the speaker lacks vocabulary, cannot express themselves in a less offensive way, or even lacks intelligence.
Studies have shown, however, that swearing may in fact display a more, rather than less, intelligent use of language.
While swearing can become a habit, we choose to swear in different contexts and for different purposes: for linguistic effect, to convey emotion, for laughs, or perhaps even to be deliberately nasty.
Psychologists interested in when and why people swear try to look past the stereotype that swearing is the language of the unintelligent and illiterate.
