When the priests and shamans found out that it was tough to take care of living people - they invented souls - which are much lower maintenance....
Thus they could still save you - without all the pesky effort - and put you in their debt and ensuring their right to fuck your sons and daughters...

That is without doubt a dead end idea. There have even been those to suggest that the soul has mass and thus can be measured at the time of death, but has never been substantiated.
However, there's plenty of conjecture that the soul is something indestructible and non-corporeal. Of course if that is true, then what chance does humanity have at detecting it? We can only speculate. That speculation could also lead to question what relation the soul has with the personality. Are the two the same? Does one inform the other? What if I said I wrote a computer program and ran it on a computer in good condition and it performed very well. Then the computer was damaged in some way and the program performed poorly. What if someone then took a hammer and bashed the computer to bits. Is the program gone forever? I wrote it, so couldn't I just write it again and run it on another computer? The program is just information, which cannot be destroyed. Now, this is just an analogy, but it parallels the quantum no-hiding theorem.
Why is it so?

Actually, our souls are instances of a part of God's soul according to Islam; look at this interesting verse in the Quran:
Quote:Sura 15,The Quran:
https://quran.com/15:29?font=v1&translat...%2C85%2C95
(28) And (re-member) when your Lord said to the angels, "I am going to create a human being from a sound-giving clay made of decayed mud.
(29) And when I form him perfect and blow in him of My soul, you fall down before him, prostrating."
— Maarif-ul-Quran
God blew a part of his soul into Adam, I believe that is the main cause we always search for him, the instance of God's soul blown into us belongs to God; that's why humans are described in the Quran to be "slaves to God"; the source can always regenerate the instance (which is only a tiny part) over and over and over.

If souls are electricity in the brain (as you stated earlier) and God has a soul (as you stated just now), and our souls ultimately derive from God’s soul, then God must have a physical brain (electrical currents are a physical manifestation). If God has a physical brain, then God is a physical Being.
Of course, the alternate explanation is that you’re talking out of your arse. Imma go with that.

God blew only "a part of his soul" into us, not his "whole soul", I believe that's only the part that gives us "consciousness" and "self-awareness" unlike animals.
Nobody knows what the "original, full and unique" soul of God has; a tiny part is electricity which humans have and that's about it for us: we're so small, so dependant, just an instance of a part, while God is the full, capable, whole, perfect.
I wouldn't say God is "physical"; because the rest of his soul is unknown to us: we only know the electrical part that needs a physical medium to be generated.

WinterHold, are you familiar with the term "kludge"? (definition [here])
The more you try to fit religious concepts together with scientific ones, the more unwieldy and unbelievable it becomes. Good explanations usually have very few elements, rather than elements that need to be rationalized to make them fit.

That doesn’t answer my objection. If God only blew the teensiest, weensiest, most minuscule part of his soul into Adam, and that part was electrical, it still means God is a physical Being.
Think harder about stuff.

Since you brought up Adam being formed by the breath of God...
Timothy 3:16 Wrote:All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,
(I know it's not the topic of the thread, but) It's interesting to note that this verse is used to defend Biblical inerrancy. After all, something "God-breathed" is perfect and without faults, right? Well, what about Adam? And the whole human race for that matter? Aren't they "God-breathed"? Only a fool would deem humanity without error. After all, to err is human.
Also to err... scripture.

Fair point, but it was Winter who brought it up.
