I recently had some right-wing acquaintances tell me that hydrochloroqunine combined with zinc has been proven by over 200 papers to be effective in treating Covid19, but that fact has been covered up by the mainstream media and the pharma companies.

I have zero information for or against this, but I know that early in the pandemic that both things were touted as being treatments. Since both failed individually, I guess some people decided that the two together must work?

My only answer was that the number of studies doesn't matter - it is the quality. It only takes a couple good studies to prove that something does or doesn't work.

Also, I don’t believe there’s any data on how long natural immunity lasts, or how effective it is compared to a vaccine. We actually have data on the effectiveness of the vaccine/s. Also, that Invermectin won a Nobel prize is completely irrelevant because it hasn’t been demonstrated to prevent or reduce the severity of COVID. You know what has? The goddamned vaccine. Please explain to me this line of reasoning:

“I’m not going to take the thing that has tons of data supporting its safety and efficacy behind it because I’m worried there isn’t enough data on its safety and efficacy, so instead I’m going to take these other things that have less data behind them, and/or data showing it’s not effective and potentially  harmful.”

Ivermectin is extremely safe, and even if it doesn't work, no harm done. It's certainly reasonable to say that Ivermectin is probably much safer than the vax. Personally, I took the vax, but still wanted to have Ivermectin on hand in case I contracted covid.

Ivermectin is extremely safe, and even if it doesn't work, no harm done. It's certainly reasonable to say that Ivermectin is probably much safer than the vax. Personally, I took the vax, but still wanted to have Ivermectin on hand in case I contracted covid.

No harm done if it doesn't work and it may clear up those nasty worms and parasites. So win-win, right?

People are taking Ivermectin that is processed for use in large animals...not the people kind.

So, you trust the data on the safety of Ivermectin (not veterinary grade, obviously) but not the data on the safety of the COVID vaccine? Why? Also, Ivermectin has not been shown to be effective at treating COVID, so why should anyone take it for COVID, regardless of how harmless it is, when we have a vaccine that actually helps with COVID? Do you hear yourself? And please provide an evidence-based case for your claim that the vaccine is less safe than Invermectin.

A lot of people meds are produced by the same companies that produce veterinary meds. That does not mean they are the same formulation when taking into account things like dosages.

Dad ordered meds for us to have at home from the same companies he ordered product from for treating animals. I recall him saying that often meds for animals for consumption went through more testing than meds for human use.

The last couple years has done not much more than confirm to me that the idiots out there are just becoming more and more idiotic.
