Hollow Earth
Do Christians believe that the Earth is hollow?

I mean, many Christians believe that Hell is underground which is corroborated by some verses in the Bible like Ephesians 4:9 "Now that he [Jesus] ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?", and considering that there must be plenty of room for the sinners, it must be a big place.

We also sometimes hear in the news how some Christians believe they found a fiery pit that is a doorway to hell.

Or maybe they believe that Earth is not hollow but that sinners cook in the lava?
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

RE: Hollow Earth
he [Jesus] ascended..... but they never tell you how high he ascended, was it 100 feet, a mile, a hundred miles, a thousand? So vague!
The meek shall inherit the Earth, the rest of us will fly to the stars.

Never underestimate the power of very stupid people in large groups

AS far as I'm aware general christian teaching agrees with science about  the centre of the earth.

There is a smallish number of crackpot fringe  christians who believe the earth is hollow.

Please excuse me using Godwin's Law. The Hollow Earth theory has been around from at least the eighteenth century. It was popular with a lot of Nazis, as were some loopy ideas about the origins of the German people and various occult theories. (apart from racialism and their view of eugenics and genetics generally)

"The Thule Society was formed after WW1, and its ideas were popular within  the Third Reich. According to the Wiki article cited it was politically pretty important because of its role in the formation of the German Worker's Party, which became the Nazis party. I hadn't heard that claim before and am sceptical.
Over the years, it has occurred to me that many top Nazis were ill educated and quite stupid. A lot were cunning and ruthless and went far. Quite of few of those amoral opportunists were eventually hanged for war crimes or committed suicide at the end of the war.

The Thule Society (/ˈtuːlə/GermanThule-Gesellschaft), originally the Studiengruppe für germanisches Altertum ("Study Group for Germanic Antiquity"), was a German occultist and Völkisch group founded in Munich shortly after World War I, named after a mythical northern country in Greek legend. The society is notable chiefly as the organization that sponsored the Deutsche Arbeiterpartei (DAP; German Workers' Party), which was later reorganized by Adolf Hitler into the National Socialist German Workers' Party (NSDAP or Nazi Party). According to Hitler biographer Ian Kershaw, the organization's "membership list ... reads like a Who's Who of early Nazi sympathizers and leading figures in Munich", including Rudolf HessAlfred RosenbergHans FrankJulius LehmannGottfried FederDietrich Eckart, and Karl Harrer.[2] "

That's why I asked because maybe they are teaching one thing but believe in other, like if they believe that hell is underground. You can even find so-called recordings of sounds from hell that are supposedly recorded in some deep mines.

Now, it seems that throughout history (and until very recently) they did believe that Earth was hollow and that hell is there, but since the relatively recent understanding that they haven't yet addressed the elephant in the room.

RE: Hollow Earth
I know a hollow Earther. As far as I know his position is based more on fringe conspiracy bullshit than his religious views.

They believe that babies can be born without a second set of DNA and that a man can have all the blood drained out of his body in an act of torture, so, imagination makes fiction.
