You might be crazy if you think that ontological argument has any credibility.
teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I dare not criticise bagpipes because they are similar to a traditional Irish instrument (Uillean pipes) . Below two clips. The first with Finbar Furey, (955,000 views) the second with The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards. (17 million views) Call me biased ,but I think the Irish pipes have a much sweeter sound.

I know - I’ve played elbow pipes since I was a lad. Which is all the more reason to criticize highland pipes.

Good to know. Seems my first thought of Brian Boru was correct.
Am I wrong to assume you like Irish folk music?
I do.

I've been to Ireland a few times. Last time was in 2000. Went backpacking, around the South. Only went through Belfast to catch the ferry to Troon. Had a great time, I understand the appeal of backpacking. Met some fascinating people. Trivia; kissed the Blarney Stone on my first trip, in 1985.

I was a professional Irish folk musician for almost 20 years. Not a huge fan of the Dubliners, though. My taste runs more to the Clancy Brothers and the Chieftains.

Professional? Hope you made a reasonable living.
Thanks for that clip.
I discovered Irish folk in 1969, on an LP "The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem at Carnegie Hall" . I loved it.
In the 80's, my ex wife thought Clannad were the shit. Also Enya. I thought it was all elevator music. I might have liked Clannad more had I understood the Gaelic . I thought singing mainly in Gaelic was an affectation. But, I'm no musician, what do I know.
Here in Adelaide, there was local folk group called "Redgum" . The lead guitarist and singer, John Schuman, is a Vietnam vet. He wrote the song for which they are most famous "I was only 19" ( A walk In The Light Green) Royalties for the song go to The Vietnam Veteran's Association Of Australia" .Worth a listen if you're not familiar

I was conscripted in 1968 and went through the same basic training camp mentioned in the song. Through pure serendipity of being in the right place the right time, I managed to avoid Vietnam. Serving instead in Malaysia and Singapore as a medic. There were 1200 blokes who went through Pucka the same time I did. Twelve of us went to Malaysia/Singapore.

I did very, very well at it. Once I discovered that drunk people would give me money to sit in a nice, warm pub and sing songs they already knew, there was never a chance that I would do 'honest work'.
