The Atheist Forums Playlist
RE: The Atheist Forums Playlist
Just finished the newest chapter of Joe vs. Elan School. This time, a fellow former inmate dies of an overdose, it somehow becomes more obvious that his parents don’t give a shit about his trauma, he gets sexually assaulted, is evicted from the slum tenement he helped fix up, and still has flashbacks to his time in Elan, but on the bright side, he gets an Akita puppy named Apollo and he discovers a song that helps calm him (his sister sent him this boxed set.

The chapter ends on Apollo waking him up from a flashback and Joe cuddling him while singing the song.

Here is a song that you probably heard many years ago, maybe only once, but you remembered it although you don't know its name.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

So, hypothetical here: if one decided to become a babysitter, how many kids do you think I'd have to teach the version of "Now I Lay me Down to Sleep" at 5 minutes into this song before I become blacklisted by the entire goddam neighbourhood:

Just that one quatrain, BTB, not the rest of the lyrics.
