Introduction
Hello there. I am Lobster lover. I love lobsters. They are wonderful animals. I am a non-theist and a non-atheist. Seems contradictory but I am using two different senses for each label in that case. I am not conflating because I am precisely specifying that. I'm old. It's best to just think of me as ignostic. Not agnostic. But ignostic. A theological non-cognitivist. I am here for science, psychology, entertainment and comparative religion.

Welcome. Pleasure to meet you!

We have another ignostic or two around here, so you aren't alone. I've always liked ignosticism, though I'm an (ordinary, boring) agnostic at the end of the day.

Does that mean that you think the existence of at least some sort of deity is exactly 50%?

It simply means "I don't know."

Ultimately, what I find plausible about God's existence is more-or-less indistinguishable from what a gnostic atheist thinks. I just have to admit that I don't have access to that knowledge because God (supposedly) has Santa Claus-like powers and can turn himself invisible and such. Why don't you start a thread about what agnosticism/ignosticism/atheism means to you and we'll discuss it there?

Your intro thread is for people to come say hi to you and for you to discuss yourself. It isn't for me to defend my own positions.

I was just curious.

Then start the thread, man. I wanna discuss it at length... just not in your intro thread. Would you prefer that I create the thread? I'll do that, no problem.

Go ahead. I'm not really interested in discussing that in particular. But I'll most likely reply.

Well, I'm not gonna start a thread if you're not interested. But the OP seems to indicate you have some interest in the subject. Whatever the case, it's a topic I find interesting, so, if a thread were to be made, I'd chip in.

I only really mentioned my position on gods because this is an an atheist forum. I'm just here to have fun interacting with minds that are more likely to be intelligent. I don't actually care about the issue anymore. I figured out the correct answer a long time ago. It's not a difficult question.

P.S. It's also important to signal that you are on the right side of the battle. One doesn't want one's allies turning on one. I'm anti-God.
