There are many elegant proofs in mathematics. In general one would prefer an elementary proof to some famous theorem or property, this way most people can understand it with minimal effort.

For me, the following one takes the cake, it's hands down the most elegant "wow" proof I encountered, back when I was an undergraduate student:

The proof is non-constructive. In other words, we don't really know what the two irrational numbers are (not without using the heavy machinery of modern math, at least) , and yet we know that the assertion is true!

If Superman were able and willing to prevent evil, he would do so. If Superman were unable to prevent evil, he would be impotent; if he were unwilling to prevent evil, he would be malevolent. Todate there's been nothing demonstrated to ehow the existance or possibility of 'Supernatural'.

Well written/scripted and acted Television shows not withstanding.

Everything that has a beginning of its existence has a cause of its existence.

The universe has a beginning of its existence.

Therefore: The universe has a cause of its existence.

If the universe has a cause of its existence then that cause is FSM

Therefore: FSM exists.

To be serious, I’m mainly a fan of geometric proofs - I’m not a mathematician, so pictures help me grasp the concept better than the more esoteric proofs. I find the various triangle proofs of Thales’ diameter theorem to be simple, elegant, and understandable.
