When did not snitching become a thing? Somewhere around 50k years ago with the rise of fully modern human beings. It's called personal loyalty, go dig some up.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

And even in the modern era, not peaching on your mates can be an admirable and courageous thing to do. It wasn't all that long ago that refusing to name names could destroy your career and sometimes your life.

Indeed. It would take an absolute drone to be truly baffled by the idea of not snitching. To believe that a persons duty in life rounds down to comply and testify.

I’m just trying to understand the parameters. Snitching and not snitching are pretty situational for me - I don’t think it’s necessary to involve to cops for each and every crime I’m aware of.

Most people learn not to snitch as children, with their siblings. Are we dealing with an only child?

Boru By OLB's logic, I would have to rat out the old lady who lives next to me who use to run grow op-out of her house despite only selling the pot to specific people in the neighborhood( mostly old people)
