Borris is clearly an idiot, but I can't think of anyone better to replace him, probably a case of finding the least bad person to do the job

Johnson won and, as leader of the largest party in Parliament, he got to be Prime Minister. Selection of party leaders involves a lot of back room negotiations and handshake deals. Boru

Unfortunately at the moment the choices are tory, tory pretending to help poor people and pro-EU tory. That is essentially where the three big parties are at now. For the vast majority of session time the commons is pretty much empty. The only time it's full is when there's an important vote, prime minster's questions (both of these because of TV cameras) and the Queen's speech (because MP's are forced to attend).
