What are you reading?

RE: What are you reading?
Just finished listening to 'The Bell Jar' by Sylvia Plath.

I feel as though I should have liked it more than I did and the only reason I finished it was because of all the hype over it.

Not my thing, I suppose.

Going Postal, by Terry Pratchett. Love his stuff. I wish I had discovered him a long time ago.

Skimming the wiki plot summary, it does seem like a boring read.

I just read Cthulhu Armageddon and the Tower of Zhaal. I'm currently on the Macabees section of a public domaind Catholic Bible. I read a fun book, then a book of the Bible. The Bible is much funnier this time through.

The Haunting of Gillespie House by Darcy Coates. It's the 4th book of hers I've read in a row, I like her stuff. Up next is her Grave Keeper series, it consists of 3 different books all based on the same character.

Star Wars, New Jedi Order, Agents of Chaos: Hero's Trial. The 4th book in the 19 book series. Man the original expanded universe is better than anything LucasFilm put out after the Theatrical Version of Return Of The Jedi.

Currently reading "In the Shadow of Lightning," the first part of the Glass Immortals series by Brian McClellan. It's the first of his I've read, and so far, it's quite good. Fantasy in the early gunpowder age with a glass based magic system and plenty of political intrigue.

Recently concluded the ongoing Scot Harvath series by Brad Thor. 22 books so far, with a 23rd announced. Pretty good political thrillers, with a right wing bias that can sometimes be onerous.

Other recent reads:
The Bone Street Rumba series by Daniel José Older. Pretty good paranormal/urban fantasy.

Concluded (finally) The Expanse by James S. A. Corey. Solid hard sci-fi with overtones of fantasy and political thriller. The series has it's ups and downs, but is definitely worth a read.

The New Earth series by Matthew Mather. Hard sci-fi that asks "what if our solar system suffered a near miss with binary pair of black holes?" This was a very good read and the science behind it is solid. There is even a scenario for it in the solar system simulator Universe Sandbox.
