Also, while we’re on the changes to the DSM-5, here’s  the testimony of someone who was actually on the DSM panel for that specific issue.

TL;DR: the way the previous editions of the DSM talked about “Gender identity disorder” was fundamentally at odds with how it actually worked.

We begin with a non sequitur that sets the ground work for the later FD; the belief that encouraging men to insert themselves into women's spaces that revolve around privacy and isolation will increase the risk to women does not equal a belief that all men therefor are dangerous.

I allege that a certain type of man is dangerous in this situation - deviants, perverts, sexual assaulters - and that giving them legal protection to insert themselves into areas where women are at a high risk is not sound policy.




Second Stage - Call out on Non Sequitur, response with False Dilemma

A. The simple reality is that there could exist possibilities other than forgetfulness or dishonesty, such as...
B. ...the possibility that I am neither forgetful nor dishonest, but rather the respondent has created a non sequitur argument and then doubled down upon it.

As both A. and B. are true it is by definition of a false dilemma; the true choice was never presented to me.

If English is your second language, it's cool I get it - that's legitimately helps me understand where some of the confusion might be coming in.

This statement implies, as it is written, that I am the one using the fallacy; if you are trying to make the statement that I am accusing others of it then it would be, "Again, why is it my job to define a fallacy you are accusing others of throwing around?"
