The Absurd GOP

In my experience, law school graduates are more inclined to cherry picking, as that is how they are taught to make a case, amplify what works for you while brushing aside what works against you.

According to Elf Sternberg (from a post on Twitter), Ron DeSantis' lawyers were forced by the court to define "woke." The lead lawyer described it as "The belief there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them."

REMINDER: the Republicans are fervently *against* this.

NEW LOW: Ted Cruz stoops to posting nude photo of Hunter Biden on Twitter

The screenshot shared below is censored; in the version that Senator Cruz posted there was no black rectangle, only light blurring, but still very clearly a genital image.

Musk’s big ‘Twitter Files’ release, dropped through journalist Matt Taibbi, was largely a nothing burger as far as the Biden campaign was concerned.
After all, any father might contact a social media site to request the removal of their child’s (even if the child in question was an adult) nude photo, and Biden was not in a government position at the time.

Why does Ted Cruz have naked pictures of Hunter Biden?  Naughty

Have you ever encountered a republican anti-gay activist who wasn't in the closet?

Good riddance to bad rubbish. At least in her death she made the world a better place.

Florida governor Ron DeSantis' administration is on trial for the removal of a prosecutor who refused to enforce the governor's anti-woke policy. The court required DeSantis' legal team to define 'woke'. Their answer:

'The belief that there are systemic injustices in American society and the need to address them.'

Ouch.

Everyone on the other side is hoping it will provide drips of endless headlines, with the possibility of some career-ending revelations.

I think what's important in elections is how this plays out in the minds of undecided voters.  They're the ones who actually decide elections.  I remember reading an article a while back saying that like 40% of the population already knows they're voting for the democrat in the next election and another 40% knows they're voting for the republican.  The remaining 20% are the ones that decide elections.  The question is, how is this going to grab their attention?

The only thing I see about the Hunter Biden laptop story that's sensational enough to hold undecided voters attention for the next two years are the dick pics and I honestly don't think those are going to influence how someone votes.

If this had come out earlier, say in October or something, sure, it might have had an impact because it was right before an election, but the American electorate has a very short memory (if they didn't, democrats would have a super-majority in the house and senate as a response to January 6).

People like to think their cynicism has been confirmed. People love a train wreck. Recency bias for the win.
