The Absurd GOP
RE: The Absurd GOP
Republicans in Congress have replaced their American flag lapel pins with AR-15 pins.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

Ben Shapiro is wailing about a ‘ban’ on gas cookers, but points out that no one seems to want to ban crime.

Crime is already banned, Ben. That’s why it’s called ‘crime’.

Texas’s shitty power grid fell apart AGAIN, leaving thousands without power and heat

Greg Abbott had years to fix it but was too busy policing vaginas and building a useless wall.

It's not broken. It's working exactly as intended.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

‘Miserable’ Marjorie Taylor Greene Whines That Her Congressional Salary Is Too Low (msn.com)

Rep.  (R-GA) lamented this week about how little she was getting paid as a member of Congress, claiming that her low Congressional salary had made her “life miserable” as she “made a lot more money” before stepping into public service.

I think politicians should be paid a bit more. It has been the playground of the rich, who can afford the pay cut because they expect some sort of grift from their increased contacts and power. I would rather see bog-standard middle class people get elected, who can make a living off just the salary and generous retirement plan.

They make 174k a year...and absolutely will vote to raise their own pay - always do. They also get an allowance in addition to that for offices, travel, goods and services. Their healthcare covers 72% and they qualify for lifetime bennies..in addition to a pension.

They're doing fine. The rep from crossfit, specifically, wasn't rich and didn't make 200k a year plus expenses and lifetime bennies as a gym coach..but she could clear all this up if she released her taxes. Then again, she might not want to bring much attention to that little spot of fraud.
