The Absurd GOP

I seriously think he's going to suffer a break with reality soon, and perhaps (hopefully) publicly. The agenda they've pushed has already put the problems the elderly have with cogent communication into the limelight; the press is already on about it. His campaign strategy, of painting Biden as a doddering dotard, is primed to blow back against him now that he's facing a younger and more vigorous opponent.

Of course the 40% who will vote for him no matter what won't change their minds. Neither will the 42% or so who will vote Democrat no matter what. But the independents who were worried about Biden's dotage will now be reading stories about Trump's brain-farts -- because his own campaign has made that an issue and focused the press on the matter.

So now we see Trump's helicopter story being shot out of the sky. That will only continue, so long as Harris doesn't make any gaffes.

The debate should be fun. I expect Harris' prosecutorial skill with be on full display, while Trump will continue to babble about helicopters he wasn't in, legislation he claims to have signed but didn't, cancerous windmills, and wet hurricanes.

For a debate to have a meaningful impact, you need an informed electorate that cares about the truth. I don't think such conditions exist.

I would like political debates to be actual debates as opposed to campaign stops.

Hulk Hogan jokes about body slamming Kamala Harris

In a video obtained by TMZ, the 71-year-old can be seen asking the jeering crowd: "Do you want me to body slam Kamala Harris?!"

"Do you want me to drop the leg on Kamala?!" he shouts, referring to one of his iconic wrestling moves.

The comments were made during a promotional event for his new beer, and come amid calls to stop violent political rhetoric, following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump nearly six weeks ago.

Hogan continued to make more comments about Ms Harris including one about her Indian heritage.

"Is Kamala a chameleon? Is she Indian?" Hogan asked the crowd, before using an outdated and stereotypical greeting associated with Native American Indians.

teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

I have a guilty pleasure: A 1990s TV show called Thunder in Paradise. It stars Hogan and is in the same vein as The A-Team but even more ridiculous. Sorry, but they are both pure fun (to me). I overlook their utter absurdity.

Have you ever heard the opinion that if you meet a celebrity you like, you will probably be disappointed? That was definitely the case for me with Hulk Hogan. He came into a Wyland Art Gallery I worked at in Key West Florida in 1999. There was a woman there who was a fan and asked if she could have her picture taken with him. His response? "You can get a picture of my ass on the way out."

What a fucking asshole.

^ That's the kind of person one can get a picture of their ass when they're toward or away from you.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
