Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) was apparently miffed at a comment Bad Bunny made during his opening monologue on “SNL.” How miffed? Well, she’s demanding a new law be passed before he performs at the Super Bowl in February.

Bad Bunny spoke in English for the vast majority of his opening but did say a few lines in Spanish before telling viewers that if they didn’t understand what he just said, they had four months until the Super Bowl to learn.

Greene apparently didn’t appreciate the playful warning because when she took to X on Monday morning, she was demanding a new law be passed before his big show ― an English-only law to be specific.


“Bad Bunny says America has 4 months to learn Spanish before his perverse unwanted performance at the Super Bowl halftime. It would be a good time to pass my bill to make English the official language of America,” she posted, adding that the NFL “needs to stop having demonic sexual performances during its halftime shows.”

Apparently, business in Portland and Chicago are exercising that 'We Reserve The Right To Refuse Service To Anyone' thing. Restaurants, hotels, and bars are declining to sell food to ICE personnel or to allow them to use restrooms.

I don't recall the city where this happened, but people gathered outside a hotel where ICE was staying and made all kinds of noise through the night...pounding on drums, chanting, shining lights at windows...it was wonderful to see.  More and more people have had their 'nough of this bullshit and are finding non-violent ways to show it.

Comey, who pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Wednesday, was indicted last month on charges of making a false statement and obstruction related to 2020 testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee -- but Justice Department officials have privately expressed that the case could quickly unravel under the scrutiny of a federal judge and defense lawyers.

Daniel Richman -- a law professor who prosecutors allege Comey authorized to leak information to the press -- told investigators that the former FBI director instructed him not to engage with the media on at least two occasions and unequivocally said Comey never authorized him to provide information to a reporter anonymously ahead of the 2016 election, the sources said.

According to prosecutors who investigated the circumstances surrounding Comey's 2020 testimony for two months, using Richman's testimony to prove that Comey knowingly provided false statements to Congress would result in "likely insurmountable problems" for the prosecution.

Apparently, the government had a hard time finding someone to prosecute Comey. More than one (I want to say ‘three’) declined to take the case because it was very weak.

The National Review's Andrew McCarthy, who seems able to come up with a fitting rationalization for even the most absurd right-wing bullshit, examined what is known about the facts and concluded that there is no actionable claim in the Comey case -- that which is actionable isn't in the indictment, and that which is in the indictment isn't actionable. It's a bad sign when one of your most unfailing boosters of right-wing lunacy isn't on your side.
